Bio

David is an associate at Vanguard International Dispute Resolution and specializes in international arbitration. He has worked for transnational companies and state entities in commercial and investment treaty disputes across various sectors, with a focus on investments impacted by international sanctions. He has experience in arbitrations conducted under the ICC, ICSID, HKIAC and UNCITRAL rules.

Prior to joining Vanguard International Dispute Resolution, David worked as an associate at an international arbitration law firm in Paris.

David is admitted to the Paris Bar. He has a Master's degree in Economic Law from Sciences Po.

  • Part of the team representing two Russian companies in a HKIAC arbitration against a Cypriot holding company in a post-acquisition dispute regarding a petrochemical plant in Russia.
  • Assisting the team representing a sovereign entity in the Middle East in the context of an ad hoc arbitration against an Eastern Asian State relating to treaty violations stemming from sanctions-driven measures.
  • Assisting the team representing a UAE energy company in an ad hoc arbitration initiated against an African State under the OIC Investment Agreement in relation to investments in an African national oil refinery (PCA Case No. 2020-09).
